My Favourites

In case you're wondering what sort of taste of films is influencing this blog, here's a list of my favourites. (And as you can see, I have quite a few and quite a range too!)

One of my goals is to watch every film with or by: Johnny DeppRobert Downey Jr, Nicolas Cage, James Franco, Tim Burton and Jean-Luc Godard − and I’m progressing quite well!

My favourite Johnny Depp films are: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (also like the older version), Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Blow, Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland, Chocolat, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Secret Window, Nick of Time, Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

Robert Downey Jr
films: Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes, Natural Born Killers, Good Night and Good Luck, Chaplin, Charlie Bartlett.

Nicolas Cage films: Lord of War, Face/Off, Ghost Rider, National Treasure(s), Matchstick Men, The Weather Man, Con Air, The Wicker Man.

James Franco films: Pineapple Express, Annapolis, Spiderman.

Tim Burton
films: (also see Depp movies above) Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, Batman, Batman Returns, Mars Attacks.

Jean-Luc Godard films: Tout va Bien, Une femme est Une femme, Masculin/Feminin, Pierre le Fou, Soigne Ta Droite!, Histoire(s) du Cinema.

OTHER FILMS:
All the Beatles movies, Harry Potter(s), Jurassic Park(s), The Mummy(s), The Fifth Element, Rocky(s), Star Wars, Gladiator, American Beauty, Man in The Iron Mask, The Count of Monte Cristo, Inglourious Basterds, The Pianist, Burn After Reading, Minority Report, Terminators, Batman and Robin, Across The Universe, Nowhere Boy, Lord of the Rings, Groundhog Day, The Sound of Music, Amélie, Scoop, Australia, Toy Story(s), Jumanji, Madagascar(s), A Clockwork Orange, Play Time, Man with a Movie Camera, The Shop Around the Corner, Letter From an Unknown Woman, The 39 Steps, Vertigo, La Vita è Bella, I bambini ci guardano, La Strada, 8 ½, Katyń, Ogniem i Mieczem, Quo Vadis and many others...

Actually, there are very few films I don’t like in some way. I appreciate and admire the act of filmmaking itself and even if a film may be lacking in one element, I always find a positive that makes every film worth seeing, even if it's to learn from its mistakes...
